Hibernation Complete
We all have to face the world eventually. The holidays….sucked. I got pregnant, almost immediately miscarried, then got an awful cold that kept me home the rest of the break.
School is back in session so its time to face the music. I’m dragging my feet a bit, but I know as soon as I’m in the classroom I’ll feel myself again. Trying hard to get back into the swing of things.

My bestie just ended her marriage. I’m heartbroken for her and I worry how hard the next few months will be. At the same time, I look over at my sleeping husband. I am lucky. I found a prince.
Relationships are hard and life is unpredictable. We often forget to be grateful when things are going well.

How to Recognize the Signs of Burnout Before You're Burned Out
Burn out always gets me down! It’s a vicious cycle. Healthy outlook to overachieving to burn out to depression to push back to healthy outlook
Once you recognize you’re burned out, you can pull yourself back from the ledge, but it’d be best to never get there in the first place. Luckily, the signs are usually right in front of you: you just don’t want to see them, or you’re too busy actually working to recognize them. via Pocket

desperatelyseekingnormality: Open Carry in #Texas is now LEGAL....
Open Carry in #Texas is now LEGAL.
I’ve been attacked by a man with a gun. It was bought legally. He had a concealed weapons license. He had U.S. infantry training. He also was deemed “unfit” to join both the Houston Police Department and the US Border Patrol. He was allowed to own a gun, but no longer fit to use it for work. One night he got angry, pinned me to the ground and put his gun to my head and screamed he’d kill me. Later, he threatened to come to my office and start shooting. He still holds his concealed weapons permit and can now carry in the open. Hope you don’t run across him. And you think because someone holds a concealed weapons license they must be mentally stable enough to handle a gun? Think again.

3 Weeks Later
Still heartbroken. I keep having dreams that I’m still pregnant. But then I wake up. I miscarried the day after I found out I was pregnant. It feels incredibly cruel. I am trying to focus on being super healthy and getting my body ready to conceive again. It gives me hope, but I feel angry I already had what I wanted and then it was gone mysteriously and suddenly. And I miss it. Like you miss the warmth of summer when you’re cold to the bone and shivering.

Study: Generosity Is More Evolutionarily Advantageous Than Selfishness
In the long term, extorting, selfish strategies did not work as well as more generous strategies. Players who defected instead of cooperating suffered more over time than players who recognized the value of cooperation–though extortion might provide an advantage in a single head-to-head matchup, in the context of a whole population, over time, it pays to be generous.
